Ted's Waste Removal is committed to carrying out all waste management activities in a way that protects the environment, prevents pollution, and complies with applicable law.
This policy applies to all staff, drivers, subcontractors, and operations involved in collection, transport, handling, transfer, and disposal of waste.
2. Legal and Governance Framework
Our environmental controls are designed to meet relevant UK and England/Wales legislation (as amended), including:
- Environmental Protection Act 1990 (including Duty of Care requirements)
- Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 (including waste hierarchy duties)
- Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations
- Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005
- Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989 (carrier framework)
- Any applicable Environment Agency guidance and enforcement standards
We also take account of local authority requirements and operating conditions in our service areas, including Leeds City Council and neighbouring authorities where services are delivered.

- Disposal - use disposal as the final option
Waste is transferred only to appropriately authorised facilities and service partners.

We maintain robust waste transfer controls and records to support traceability and lawful handling.
- Waste is only transferred to authorised persons/facilities

- Transfer notes and consignment documentation are completed as required

We do not process prohibited or restricted wastes through standard collections unless specifically agreed and legally compliant.
Where hazardous or specialist waste is accepted, additional identification, handling, transport, and documentation controls are applied.
